History of Orthodent Laboratories
In 1984 Philip (Lew) Lewis, together with daughter Julie and son Michael, began Orthodent Laboratories. Lew was already an advanced technician with extensive experience in dentures and had for some time been interested in orthodontics. When Julie and Michael joined the business, it was deemed a new entity be created to focus solely on orthodontics. This new business was called Orthodent Laboratories and a road map was set to achieve what is now a very successful orthodontic dental laboratory.
Julie went on to manage the Australian leg of Progressive Orthodontics and was still in this role when she succumbed to breast cancer at the age of 39. Lew retired not long after and today Orthodent is still run by Michael who continues to drive the business with the strong family values that were at the very core of the businesses inception.
